Regardless of age or gender, Choe’s HapKiDo Martial Arts program is designed for any individual who desires to learn this impactful traditional Korean-style martial art. At Choe’s HapKiDo, there are over 365 major techniques to learn. Kids, teens, and adults benefit from the fitness that HapKiDo Martial Arts provides, and everyone is able to grow athletically, confidently, respectfully, and positively.
Choe’s HapKiDo is determined to help change the world, and they focus on the goal one class at a time. “Everyone who we work with has amazing potential,” describes Lawrenceville head instructor Dan Wilson, “People always tend to underestimate themselves. Teaching HapKiDo is a way to reach out to them and help them improve the way they live.”
Under the leadership of Grandmaster JiMong Choe, HapKiDo focuses on using circular force for attack and defense. “The thing that I love about HapKiDo is that you don’t have to be the strongest person in the room,” says Cumming head instructor RJ LoPresti, “With correctly applied technique and a heap of confidence, an individual can learn self-defense. That person can make a difference in his or her community.”
In addition to running classes throughout the week, Choe’s HapKiDo enjoys particiating in community projects like running drives to collect school supplies for one month and then canned goods for another month. Their current project that is ending in December includes teaming up with Project Live Love for their homeless rescue program, THREE-OH-WE-GO. Additonal community projects include organizing fundraisers like 5Ks and Kick-A-Thons to donate to local schools.
Choe’s HapKiDo classes are offered six days a week, and they are divided by age groups. Whether a child, a teen, or an adult, there is a program for every member of the family.
