Karate Gwinnett Will Boost Your Self-Esteem

Choe's HapKiDo

If you ever need a self-esteem boost, learning to break boards will do just that. At Choe’s HapKiDo Karate Gwinnett, we start everyone with the simplest techniques, and gradually show them cooler and more complex board breaking moves. But before anyone moves up, our students understand the most important fundamentals when it comes to board breaking. Breaking Boards at Choe’s HapKiDo Karate Gwinnett provides challenges to our students, but there is a great feeling of accomplishment when breaking a board—or several boards at once—is successful.

What’s it like to break your very first board?

Many of our students remember their first time trying to break board. You see this single piece of wood in front of you, and you can’t believe that it will break with your own fist. The instructor has guided every single student through this board breaking journey, and s/he has always assured us that it’s possible.

Karate Gwinnett is great because it really teaches you perseverance. If at first you did not succeed in breaking the board, you can try again. Maybe it was your mind that stopped your fist before you tried to hammer through. Or maybe your mind was on the target, but the strike was not strong enough. After the second or third attempt of trying to physically break the board as hard as possible, you understand the necessity of also focusing the mind: on the target, on the weight of your fist, on the momentum that is needed, on your fighting stance, on your breath, on the spot behind the board that your fist must come through, and on the yell that will travel loudly from your gut.

After the first break, Karate Gwinnett students’ confidence rises. Before they know it, they will overcome board break techniques using the heel, palm, elbow, and many more. As board breaking looks like a performance test, it is very much one. The practice is a demonstration of all practice coming together, where the mind and body must work in cooperation, in unison.

Kids Martial Arts

Choe’s HapKiDo Martial Arts is a Special Gift to Anyone

Choe’s HapKiDo Martial Arts is a Lasting Gift.

Especially around the holidays, finding the right gift for people can be challenging. There are the nice, sweet gifts like candy and gift cards, but those are eventually consumed or disposed. And then there are gifts that add to a person’s collection of stuffed animals, toys, and other grand things. They bring a longer lasting joy to the receiver, but they too might not last. The child might grow bored with it or out of it (if it’s clothes), or it might start collecting dust. But the gift won’t decay if you have them try Choe’s HapKiDo Martial Arts!

This year, it’s possible to gift something to someone that will last a lifetime. The gift of martial arts during the winter holidays is one of the coolest ways to surprise your child, teen, or even significant other. It’s special, invaluable, and easily capable of being thrown away. Instead, it’s a gift that keeps your loved ones learning and growing.

Choe’s HapKiDo Martial Arts has your friends and family become healthier and happier. When it comes to the physical workouts, they are introduced to ways to make classic workouts like running fun. They start to be active in cardio, flexibility, agility, muscular strength, and much more. With martial arts training, they increase their reflexes while raising their awareness of their surroundings.

Learning self-defense gives people the opportunity to practice how to get out of situations while being in a safe, positive atmosphere. When someone learns how to get out of a wrist hold or other possible scenarios, s/he becomes empowered by the ability of defense. Suddenly, your friends and family members become more confident and healthier throughout their days.

If there is struggle in finding the perfect gift for your loved ones this year, why not try Choe’s HapKiDo Martial Arts? The workout is light on the joints, yet effective as a daily workout. You may find that it also saves your life.
