Choe’s HapKiDo Has Much to Offer to All!

At Choe’s HapKiDo, what do you picture your first martial arts class as?

Perhaps you envision an incredible amount of bowing and yelling of, “Yes, Sensai!” Or maybe you hope to learn how to stop bullets, float through the air, or block every hit. While some of these ideas we enjoy watching in cool martial arts movies, these martial artsĀ misconceptions are what we do not teach. However, what Choe’s HapKiDo does teach is how to make the best out of every situation. We may not host classes to train students on how to paralyze an opponent with one touch, but we have much more to offer that you can walk away with.

Three Reasons Why Martial Arts Has So Much to Offer

The Martial Arts are for Men AND Women.

At Choe’s HapKiDo, our ratio of how many men and women take our classes is pretty balanced. One benefit from studying a martial arts like HapKiDo is that females from child to adult practice on how to combine punches and kicks and how to escape multiple grips. Another benefit that our female students find is that they enjoy becoming stronger. All of the portions of training are taught to everybody. As a result of training with us, our students become more confident individuals.

Learning a Martial Art Can Start at Any Age.

Choe’s HapKiDo has students who start as soon as 3-years-old, but we also have students who start in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s. You do not have to be in good shape to begin. We will help you! Our exercises are light on the joints while also being good for increasing cardio and strength-training levels.

There is More to Learn After Receiving a Black Belt.

In HapKiDo, the symbolical meaning of a black belt means, “BeginningĀ of New Cycle.” At Choe’s HapKiDo Martial Arts, the basics of the martial art style starts at White Belt and progresses through twelve other belts, the twelfth being black. After that, there are second year black belts, third year black belts, and way beyond.

We have many lessons to offer every student who comes through the door!

Learning a martial art takes more than ten days to master. However, if you begin training on day one and practice with persistence, you will gradually advance in the art. Choe’s HapKiDo offers classes to kids, teens, and adults! We also arrange for families to train together!
