Choe’s HapKiDo —Tis the season for awesome time spent with family and friends! But it also means eating excessively.
Here are 3 ways to control the weight. Do these, and you won’t feel as bad/guilty when the holidays are over. We definitely want enjoy ourselves, but there is a line when it becomes too much.
1) Avoid consuming too much sugar.
Watch out for the packaged and processed foods! Also watch out for desserts. The treat every now and then or a daily chocolate square is fine, but these unfavorable sweets are loaded with more sugar than desired. As a reminder, be sure to check those nutrition facts!
2) Try to limit the alcohol.
The “tricky” bad nutrients hiding in alcohol are the many calories and carbs. Plus with the alcohol, it influences us to snack more. To help control the amount of alcohol consumed, use a smaller glass and aim for once or twice a week. And if at a party, just be careful! Pick one drink, and drink it slowly.
3) Come train at Choe’s HapKiDo!
Through all of the hustle and bustle, skipping our workouts is understandable. But it’s during the holidays when we need to workout the most. Just come to martial arts and/or kickboxing class a few times a week!
Again, don’t be too hard on yourself for slipping up. Take what you can learn from those days, shake them off, and continue to thrive to the best of your abilities in working on your goals!
