Children Learn to Collaborate in Martial Arts Cumming

The Best Way to Team Build!

Children and martial arts go greatly together. Any problem that they struggle with, martial arts seem to solve. For instance, collaboration is a lesson students will learn well. Working with another person or even in a small group can cause frustrations for an individual. It becomes easier as adults, but kids will have a harder time because they are still learning about themselves and other kinds of people. For them to get along with each other can raise challenges, but give them the right activity to accomplish together, and they achieve the finish line amazingly.

On top of learning respect and self-discipline, children who do martial arts also develop team work skills. This kind of skill becomes important in life because the need for teamwork pops up frequently. Whether it’s in school, work, or other special situations, learning to cooperate with others to accomplish a task is not easy; it can cause stress and bring out the worst in people. But with teamwork training infused in martial art programs like at Choe’s HapKiDo, it contributes positively to our future leaders.

In any given martial arts class, working with partners or in groups can play greatly in a student’s success. When it comes to alternating turns to hold up a kicking target for peers, the students listen to each other, help all to improve, and literally contribute a hand or two. Students may not realize this, but they continuously practice exchanging good etiquette with one another. And a lot of the times, becoming a good partner increases the quality of training.

Regardless of the level of difficulty of team work, developing  team work skills makes associating with all kinds of people easier. The students learn the importance of treating others and self with respect.

Bio Spotlight: Choe’s HapKiDo Buford Ga Instructor Anthony Rivera

Choe's HapKiDo Buford Ga
Choes HapKiDo Buford Ga

My martial arts journey started during my teenage years with American karate when I lived in South Florida. When my family and I moved to Georgia, my son expressed an interest in martial arts. I then started looking around for, in my eyes, a good instructor in a well-rounded art form. I came across Choe’s HapKiDo Buford Ga and enrolled him, myself, and the rest of my family.

We have our mantra that I truly believe in: “Changing Society One Black Belt at a Time.” Teaching HapKiDo martial arts in Flowery Branch allows me to help people become the best they can be, and it is rewarding. In addition to my experience in HapKiDo training and running Choe’s HapKiDo in Flowery Branch, having Grandmaster Choe and a Master to learn and draw knowledge from is more than lucky—it is also awesome! Working with them and the other people involved at Choe’s HapKiDo Buford Ga shows that working together results in success.
