Take Good Care of Yourself

Sometimes taking charge of personal health is forced. After a person experiences the wrath of something like diabetes, GERD, asthma, high blood pressure or even depression, there is suddenly a push to do whatever it takes to be healthy. By starting a regime of good eating and exercising, people who need to address health problems find they can live more freely and be less worrisome of current health levels.

Even if you do not have health issues, taking care of yourself is a choice that can be turned into fun. I Love Kickboxing is a cool community to become a part of. By being around kickboxing instructors that have struggled with what you are going through, you will be around people who understand and can help you. Our workouts are so innovative and fun that they make getting into shape and eating healthier awesome. We have awesome kickboxing events such as DJ night, that the workouts feel more like you are rocking out and punching large punching bags. You will look, feel, and move great!

Choosing to take good care of yourself can also inspire the people in your life to do the same. People look up to you, and they will naturally imitate what you do. If those people see you happy because of being fit and confident about yourself, they will want to do the same. And by having experience of developing good habits to have a healthier life, you will be able to help those who are struggling.

Start to make good habits and treat the body well. You only have one body to live in, and it can suffer from your choices. Taking care of yourself allows one to live more care free and helps influence the surrounding people. If you have the opportunity to make changes, take advantage of them all.

What’s the best excuse that you have come up with to skip exercise?

Dog ate your energy?
You left your workout clothes at home?
You were running late to the gym?

If you are trying to turn exercising into a habit, try to find or create a bulletproof plan that will prevent you from stopping. Especially with exercising, to lightly excuse yourself on workout day could develop into a bigger habit. If your workout plan will be successful by hiring a personal trainer or pushing a friend to also get fit, then go for it! In addition to finding ways to not stop, also consider checking out your local kickboxing studio for extra fitness tips and support! To be around an environment that is highly interactive with fitness will keep you inspired.

Five Reasons to Kickbox at I Love Kickboxing:

  1. It’s indoors all the time. Weather can be a significant influence to workout time. Rain or shine, by making it to a group fitness class like kickboxing, you are guaranteed less hassle of the personal debate, “I should not workout today.” Plus, signing up for classes will make them feel like appointments. People may not like the dentist, but they’ll most likely go if they have an appointment. But kickboxing is WAY MORE FUN than the dentist.
  2. Someone is there to always push you. Kickboxing instructors make a huge difference in someone’s workout. Home workouts are awesome too, but sometimes it’s good to have a coach for the extra push. It’s tempting to stop when you start feeling pain, but having someone on the outside rooting for you to hold for an extra ten seconds will reel in benefits!

  4. It’s valuable time to release stress and renew your energy. Mood also affects someone’s will to workout. Don’t be a victim of moods either! Have it in your head that you can have at it on large punching bags.
  5. There are always workout buddies here. Finding workout pals can be great motivators, but even the regulars will sometimes have to bail. Kickboxing classes are always full of people also trying to reach their fitness goals. Join in on the fun, and they will also become fantastic exercise buds!

Excuses are easy to come up with, but it’s not fine when they pull you away from fitness goals. You will feel so much more accomplished when you shed the desired weight in addition to triumphing over the times of wanting to stop.

Find Motivation to Exercise When It’s Cold

If the recent change in weather has thrown you off from wanting to exercise in the cold, then at least find motivation to attempt indoor exercises. As it feels great to stay snuggled on the couch with a blanket, calories won’t be burned that way. Besides, the more your body moves around, the warmer you’ll feel. If you wore layers at the beginning of your workout, a good one will have you remove a couple of them from burning and sweating — the cold air will actually feel good!

These workouts can be done indoors and outdoors alike: jumping jacks, squats, burpees, push-ups, lunges, running up and down the stairs. To move consistently with the heart rate pumping in the cardio zone for 30 minutes is an accomplishment. An hour will make you feel even more pumped! Or if you feel brave to exercise in the cold outside, having warm coffee waiting for you when you get back could be a good push. Other motivators can include music, dogs, workout partners, and rewards.

Belly Breathe to Have Better Health

Do you chest breathe or belly breathe? Which leads to better health?

Get better health with finding out how you breath.  With a hand on your chest and the other on your stomach — if the hand on your chest rises, then you are using your chest (Sisson).

How you breathe affects your body systems and well-being. By adjusting the breath flow to come directly from your belly versus chest, you utilize the maximum capacity of your lungs, improve cardiovascular and digestive systems, and reduce stress and anxiety. If you can retrain to breathe like the soft rise and fall of a baby’s belly, the “slow, rhythmic diaphragmatic breathing [will produce] relaxed energy” (Rossman). Whereas chest breathing can contribute to chest pains and be the reason for having trouble breathing, belly breathing allows oxygen to fully circulate the body.

Since  is a better way to breathe is belly breathe, sports and other activities will emphasize to breathe the diaphragmatic way. Developing a natural breathing rhythm supplied from the belly supports yoga, kickboxing, running, singing, yelling, sleeping, and many more tasks.

Especially when you have jobs that do not require a lot of moving around on foot, you are in danger of the risks from not working out. To engage in exercise regularly will allow you to improve in belly breathing, which in turn will only benefit you.

Stay Committed! – I Love Kickboxing

The best part of these moments is that they can range from any size: rising early enough to eat breakfast before work every day, filling up the car tank early morning, earning all A’s for one term, running a 5K, losing weight — the list could be longer! But regardless of the size of these successes, they all have one element in common: commitment.

Your 2015 resolutions may have started with inspiration and motivation, but now commitment needs to step in. By possessing this asset, good will happen. It will also bring in other factors to help achieve goals such as loyalty, self-discipline, and self-respect. There will be obstacles, and there will probably be sweat. But keep in mind that the tougher the challenge, the better you will be.

It is still only the second month of 2015, and you pursuing a resolutions goal may already be trialing. You might be tired and discouraged right now, but do not quit now. Take a day or two of a break, complain more to relieve frustration, or anything else. But DO NOT let yourself fold over.

Be consistent, work hard, sweat lots, overcome obstacles, and beam at all the rewards that will come at the end.

Fitness Challenges: You Become a Better Person! – I Love Kickboxing

“To become fit” challenges everything about a person. Not only does an individual train physically, but mentally as well. In fact, what a person thinks can affect what s/he does next. For all those days of tempting to skip work out time or caving into old eating habits, a person also develops mental toughness for every negative thought overcome.

When struggling to go to the gym or a kickboxing class, it is great to try to counteract with positive thinking; however, it is even better when the reasons for the negative idea are solved. For example, detected reasons to wanting to skip exercise include feeling tired or stressed from school/work, having no ride, feeling cozy, having muscle soreness, and/or having no time. Whatever the excuse, they can feed into negative reasons of why someone would want to skip a work out day. It is not bad to skip a day here and there to give your body a break, but to cave in once tells the mind that it is fine to replicate.

Overcoming negative thoughts are not easy, and sometimes it takes every ounce to push self forward – but it will be worth it in the long run!

Get Back Into Shape with I Love Kickboxing!

As a kid, staying in shape was mindless because fun came from running around all the time. But as we grew older, life threw fast balls that changed our lives. Regardless of the changes, we eventually arrive to the point where exercising is mandatory to maintain health and to look good.
