—Members in Different Locations Work Together to Make a Difference
Choe’s HapKiDo works with Sweat Angels to team up with feedOne to help fight hunger for kids in developing worlds. 66 million children attending school without having eaten, and the martial arts school wants to decrease that number. Members are able to participate in this cause by using Facebook to check in to their locations and adding the hashtag #meals4kids. With every two check-ins, a meal is provided to a child in need.
The goal of feedOne is to promote the awareness of the state that the children are in and to also bring meals to them. A program called Children’s Feeding Initiative, 146,676 children are enrolled. From around the world in developing worlds, countries include El Salvador, Haiti, Honduras, Kenya, Nicaragua, the Philippines, Ethiopia, South Africa, Guatemala, and Tanzania.
Not only does feedOne feed the children, but they also monitor their health and growth.
Every month, the martial arts community work together with Sweat Angels to contribute to a different cause. Last month, they partnered up with the non-profit organization called Guiding Eyes for the Blind, which bought dog food.
Previous projects include a food drive with the Georgia Mountain Food Bank and a winter clothes drive with THREE-OH-WE-GO.
